Cinaed's mother was the youngest daughter of a lesser noble from a small but raising clan. Her clan wishing to gain influences within the witches' political circle, and cement their power as a major player within its game begun to look for ways to do just that. So, when Cinaed's mother caught the eye of the head of one of the triads, both her clan and her father pushed her to pursue that relationship. It paid off. She eventually married the man. A year after they were married she gave birth to Cinaed, but her husband wasn't his father. This was a fact that everyone was aware of, even Cinaed would know whom his mother was married to wasn't his father. However, unlike some of those around him Cinaed had no idea whom his biological  father was. Any attempt that Cinaed made to figure it out was responded with extreme cruelty and malice.

The truth of behind his biological father's identity was what lead his step father to attempt to have Cinaed killed. The man, whom gotten Cinead's mother pregnant with him, had been the last Lavoie king before the clan had fallen into ruin. Those within his step father's clan--including his step father himself--were afraid if others learn of the truth of his heritage that they would rally around him and raise the Lavoie from the grave. They believed that if this happened that they would lose their position as one of the triads. This was not something that his step father wanted. So, when Cinaed was six years old he took him into the forbidden forest and left him there. He hoped that one of the many creatures that resided inside there would find the boy and kill him.

The being within the forest that Cinaed's step father was really hoping would find Cinaed was the witch of the forest. She was a new legend making its way around the clans, whom was suppose to absorb the souls of her victims. If Cinaed's soul was gone than his step father would never have to worry about him returning and threatening his clan's position. Cinaed managed to survive within the forest for a week before stumbling upon the witch of the forest. At first, he thought that she was someone whom could help him find his way out of the forest, but quickly learned that wasn't the case. The witch of the forest was extremely hungry. Individuals did not cross her path everyday and it had been awhile since she had fed. She gave into her hunger and begun to feed from him.

It started with her slowly draining the blood from his body, and when his body could no long sustain itself she begun to consume his fleeing soul. The pain was unbearable. He tried to fight against it. He tried to escape from her, but any attempt he made failed. It seemed that his step father really was going to be getting his wish, but then she stopped just before she consumed the last sliver of his soul. It was unclear why she had stopped. Perhaps, she was savoring the moment or maybe she wanted to taunted him before she finished what she had been doing, but his totally annihilation never came. Instead, she did something to make him like her. He became her child in that moment. She took on the role of his mother, teaching him the things he needed to know to survive. In many ways, she was more of a motherly figure than his birth mother had ever been.

He learned what his specialty would have been if his step father hadn't sent him into the forest to die. He was a dream weaver. He learned how to control his powers, and eventually came to learn how to pull someone's nightmares into reality. He was uncertain if this is something he would have learned if he had stayed with his birth family or if what she had made him into gave him that ability. As he grew older, Cinaed begun to wonder about the things she taught him. She told him that it was necessary for him to consume the souls of others. His own soul would never become whole again if he didn't use pieces of another soul to make it so.  He couldn't just steal a small piece of a soul. He had to steal the entire soul, or it wouldn't work. Most of all, he begun to wonder about himself. Who was he? He knew whom he had been, or rather he knew whom the boy had been that found himself in the woods those years ago.

He did not think he was that boy. He believed that boy had died all those years ago, and what remained was just a shadow of the part of him that wanted to live. He decided to leave the forest and his mother behind in order to live the life that he believed the boy would have lived if he hadn't been betrayed by those that should have protected him. He managed survive in the outside world for many years. He even met and married a human girl. However, what happiness he found here was short lived. He learned that no matter how hard a tiger tried it couldn't change its stripes.Cinaed ended up killing and consuming virtually every soul within the village that he and his human wife had made a home in. The only soul that escaped that fate was his wife, and it was just barely. He had consumed almost her entire soul before he gained control of himself. He dropped her dead body before fleeing into the night. He returned to the forest he had left all those years ago, and found the woman that had changed him. He was planning on yelling at her. Planning on telling her that he hated her for making him into this monster.

His plans and feelings quickly changed when he saw her. He realized in that moment that she depended upon him more than he did her. His time away had not bold well for her. She had become extremely distraught without him. It was almost like she was lost without him. When he made his presence known to her. She made him promise never to leave her again. He promised. It was in that moment that moment their roles changed. He was no longer her child. He was now her dominate. The one who had complete and utter control over her. He was the one of the only two individuals that could stop her from consuming someone's soul. The other person who had such power over her was her twin brother, whom didn't know that she was alive.

This was something that she wanted to change. She wanted to find her brother in order to tell him that she was alive, but she couldn't do that unless she gathered her strength. She had to stay within the forest until she could manage to do just that. So, Cinaed begun to lure people into the forest for her to consume and corrupt. They begun to collect a following of worshipers. It was during this time that his title of The blood Priest was given to him. Their followers did not always escape the fate of those that had been brought there as food. Their souls were sometimes consumed. It all depended upon Cinaed's and his maker's mood. Most often than not, it depended upon her moods. In fact, what role he took depended upon her moods. Sometimes he is her dominate. Others just her lovers. There are times where he is nothing more than her high priest and then there are times where he returns to be her child. He knows how to read her well enough to know which role to take.

Slowly, with the passage of time he helped her gather her strength back until she felt like she was ready to make the journey to find her brother. The journey, however, had to be postponed when she became pregnant with his child. She decided that she couldn't make the trip to find her brother until her unborn child was old enough. She ended up giving birth to a daughter. In spite, her instability she was an excellent mother. It was clear how much she loved her daughter. A feeling that Cinaed understood. He watched their daughter grow into the young woman that she was until she became old enough that her mother felt that they were able to make the journey to find her brother. That was exactly what they did. She has reestablish her relationship with her brother, and stays in her brother's estate at times. Cinaed stays with her. Wherever she goes he will follow. However, he prefers the forest they had called their homes for all those years.
